The rice goes through the scanner and basis various parameters only the good quality of rice comes out from the machine rejecting the other.

Quality : Special care is taken right from growth of the rice plantation. Each grain is treated with special care in our rice mills with JapeneseSortex technology. This Technology enables grains to be in same size, shape and color, which makes rice like jasmine flower after cooking.

Process : (Separate page) Paddy Cultivation : Special care taken from cultivation of paddy in fields Milling Process : RECEIVING & CLEANING SECTION This section mainly receives the input material from a receiving hopper with the help of a Bucket Elevator.

Input material contains following major impurities -

1. Threads

2. Stones

3. Dust

4. Foreign material like glass, iron, nails, bolts etc.

For smaller impurities it is suggested to use a pre-cleaner which works on the basis of separation through sieves of different sizes . For larger & heavier impurities a destoner , which works on a principle of separation through differences in gravity of foreign materials like stones with that of Rice.

A online flow meter is suggested to measure the quantity of cleaned Paddy.

PADDY HUSKING SECTION Cleaned paddy is conveyed to PADDY HUSKER with HUSK ASPIRATOR through BUCKET ELEVATOR, CONTROL TANK AND FLOW CONVEYOR. The PADDY HUSKER WITH ASPIRATOR consists of an automatic roll type husker and husk aspirator the former being mounted on the latter.

After husking done at the husker the grain descend into the husk aspirator. The aspirator remove husk separately from the stream of grain on the basis of difference in weight. The husk is collected by the FLOW CONVEYOR and blown off to husk disposal area by the HUSK BLOWING FAN/CONVEYOR.

The husking efficiency of husker should be 85 to 90% Since the grain is likely to be damaged, the husker is operated so as not to achieve 100% husking efficiency in a single pass. Accordingly this plant needs to use PADDY SEPERATOR which function is to separate paddy from brown rice, and to return paddy to the husker.

Brown rice and some paddy mixed are fed into the PADDY SEPERATOR via the BUCKET ELEVATOR, CONTROL TANK and FLOW CONVEYOR. The PADDY SEPERATOR is of tray type which has forty separating trays per one set with numerous dimples inclined in longitudinal and latitudinal direction.

The mixture grain fed to the PADDY SEPERATOR is divided on the basis of difference of density and surface smoothness of the grain into three (3) categories. .
(a) paddy
(b) Brown rice and,
(c) Mixture of both The paddy is sent back for re-husking.

The mixture grain is sent back to PADDY SEPARATOR for re-separating. Cleaned brown rice is conveyed to rice whitening section via bucket Elevator after passing through thickness graders which removes contamination by thickness and thiness as desired.

A online flow meter is suggested to measure the quantity of clean brown rice. RICE WHITENING SECTION The rice milling section consists of 5 lines with total three pass whitening machines and two passes of the Finishing machine.

The first stage is applied for abrasive type RICE WHITENING MACHINE and the second stage is applied for friction type HUMIDIFIED AIR POLISHING MACHINE. While passing through different stages of whitening successively, brown rice is whitened. The abrasive type RICE WHITENING MACHINES equipped with abrasive roller made of Carborundum with high hardness.

Brown rice is passed through the gap between abrasive roller and the cylinder, during that time bran layer of rice grain is scraped by sharp edge of the Carborundum under possible least pressure not to cause damage to the grain. After milling by the abrasive whitening machine, rice is preceded to a friction type WET POLISHER after passing through ROTARY SIFTER which removes fine broken and bran lump. The HUMIDIFIED AIR POLISHER consists of two stages.

The first stage is for surface treatment of outer layer and the second stage consists of refining roll surrounded by with perforated steel screen, while the white rice is passing through the gap between the roller and the screen, surface of white rice is refined and adhered bran is removed. Mist spraying device is equipped with this wet polisher to produce super fine water mist.

Thus the last trace of bran and adhered bran on the surface of white rice is removed and polished rice with minimum increase of broken rice is obtained .After polishing, fed to Grading & Blending section. GRADING, BLENDING,COLOR SORTING & PACKING SECTION The ROTATORY SIFTER consists of stainless multi-layer wire meshed flat sieves with gyratory movement and change valve.

This machine removes fine broken rice, bran lump and mixture of head rice & broken rice and discharges fine broken rice into a bag, Bran lump in to bags and mixture into the BUCKET ELEVATOR to Length grader. We have used total of SIX cylinders to grade the mixture in to two broken varieties. In case any modification is desired, the proposal will have to be amended accordingly.

The graded rice is stored in separate bins and passed on to the color sorting section for final product. Also, placement of graders after of before color sorter is dependent upon the customer’s requirement. Rice grains though treated for surface finish as well as their cooking properties, still contains some discolored grains like black, brown and red etc. which decreases the market value.

In order to remove these impurities from the final product, the rice is passed through SATAKE GRAIN COLOR SORTER.

This is the latest development in vision technology and uses very powerful sensing capabilities to sort discolored grains. Output of this process is rice almost free from any discolored impurities and is of uniform color. The rejected grain from this process is also a salable by-product. The final product is thus stored in bins for packaging
